F-16C landed safely despite losing half of right wing

The investigation board blamed the student pilot for the mishap. Both aircraft were in a formation in a simulated dogfight with another F-16. However, the student failed to inform the flight lead that he had lost visual with him. Both jets collided into each other while pursuing the third fighter.
