Two Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) P-3Cs arrived in RMAF Butterworth on Feb. 20 while on their way home to Japan from Djibouti.
The crew of 37 were lead by Commander Hideki Jufuku, who also lead the search for MH370 last year.
This is the first time Japanese military aircraft landed at the airfield after World War 2. The two maritime patrol aircraft will continue their journey home on Feb. 21.
