The RAAF’s Boeing E-7A Wedgetail airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft was fitted with an IP chat capability just before the type was deployed to the Middle East last year.
The feature is required as the U.S. Combined Air Operations Center in the region uses IP chat extensively.
