The Israeli Air Force has kick off a study to explore the merits of purchasing an aerial refueling simulator to train its boom operators.
Currently, boom operators for Israel’s Boeing 707 tankers are trained on board USAF KC-10s and in a simulator for the latter type, Flight Global reports.
This had lead to safety incidents as both U.S. and Israeli flying booms are different.
