Philippines says China is practicing to set up ADIZ over South China Sea

Philippine Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin told reporters on May 8 that China is “practicing to have an Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ)” over the South China Sea.

A spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry earlier said China is entitled to set up ADIZs. But a decision will be based on whether the air safety is threatened and to what extent it is threatened.
