Sweden looks at replacing Saab 105

By end of the decade, the Swedish Air Force plans to phase out the Saab 105 jet trainer and replace it with a Military Flying Training System (MFTS).

The industry is to provide 8,000 flying hours per year for student pilots under this model.

Instructor pilots will come from the Swedish Air Force while the contractor carries out the ground-based training and maintenance portion.
