Former Sgt. John M. Watson fought in the Second World War as a crew chief with the Tuskegee Airman. However, he was not officially recognized as a member of the group until May 20.
He was given an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. to attend a surprise ceremony on Capitol Hill. Sen. Joe Manchin award him with the Congressional Gold Medal.
