F-35B pilots flew air-to-air sorties during OT-1

U.S. Marine Corps pilots flying the first operational test (OT-1) of the F-35B took part in simulated aerial combat during the sea trials which ran from May 18-29.

Pilots were tested on their abilities to defend the ship from an aerial attack and shooting down enemy aircraft.
