Chinese airplane, ship tried to monitor Taiwan PAC-2 missile test

Taiwan had to abandon a plan to test fire the PAC-2 air defense missile on May 28 and 29 after a Chinese ship and airplane were observed to be loitering outside the exercise area on the southeast side of the island.

The first attempt was at 6 a.m. at the Jiupeng missile base in Pingtung. Shortly before the test, a Chinese ship was detected southeast of the base at 100km away.

During a second attempt the next day, radar found a Chinese aircraft near the exercise area.
