DCNS is spending at least $1.1 million a month to maintain two Mistral helicopter carriers that Russia had ordered, Chief Executive Herve Guillou said.

The ship builder is adsorbing 36 percent of those costs while the rest of the 64 percent is by the French government. Guillou added that he may try to recover those costs from French export insurance agency Coface.
