Malaysia, U.S. in secret talks to let P-3s, P-8As fly out of Labuan

Bloomberg revealed that Kuala Lumpur and Washington have been engaged in secret talks to allow U.S. Navy P-3s and P-8s to deploy out of the island of Labuan on East Malaysia in order to monitor Chinese activity in South China Sea.

David Shear, the assistant secretary of defense for Asian and Pacific security, and officials from Pacific Command are leading the talks with Malaysia.
