Chinese fighter pilots scrambled to intercept Global Hawk

The Republic of China Air Force scrambled two F-16 fighters to intercept a U.S. Global Hawk that was flying along the border of its Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) on Sept. 8.

According to the news report, the RoCAF decided to scramble fighters as one of its C-130HE electronic attack aircraft was flying in the vicinity. The island is also holding its annual Han Kuang exercise during this period.

The Global Hawk was flying from north to south and eventually change course for Okinawa.
