South African Department of Defense head of communications, Siphiwe Dlamini, confirmed this week that 24 personnel from the SAAF are undergoing training in Cuba.

Four of them will be there over the next four years to be trained as pilots while another five are learning to be air traffic controllers.
Eight are undergoing aviation engineering courses while seven are doing three-year aviation technical training courses.
