Four A-10Cs from the 357th Fighter Squadron flew to the National Training Center range at Fort Irwin, California to practice operating out of a dirt runway on Sept. 22.

Before the aircraft could land, the 22nd Special Tactics Squadron based out of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington assisted the pilots by surveying the area and testing the density of the ground.
This portion of training was part of Green Flag-West 15-10.
