U.S. Navy to conduct first ballistic missile defense test in Europe

The U.S. Navy will attempt to intercept an unarmed ballistic missile fired from a U.K. range near Scotland later this month.

This is the first such test by the U.S. Navy in Europe. Previous tests were all carried out in Hawaii. It will send four ships to join warships from eight other countries in the exercise.
