JMSDF destroyer to conduct joint training with Theodore Roosevelt CSG south of Spratly Islands

Japan’s Akizuki-class destroyer, JS Fuyuzuki, will carry out a joint training exercise with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group (CSG) south of the Spratly archipelago after the ships departed Singapore.

During the training exercise, personnel from both navies will crossover to observe how each other operate.

USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) and Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60) left Singapore after a four-day port call on Oct. 28. JS Fuyuzuki was in Singapore during that period too. The warships had just came back from Exercise Malabar with the Indian Navy.
