Mehdi Sanaei, the Iranian ambassador to Russia, was quoted by news agency Tasnim that the delivery of the S-300 air defense system has started.

“The process of the S-300 system’s delivery to Iran has entered the implementation stage,” Sanai said.
Earlier this month Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan said Tehran will take delivery of the system by March 2016.
