A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Defense has confirmed media reports that China is proceeding with the purchase of the S-400 air defense system and Su-35 fighter.

Col. Wu Qian said the Su-35 project is “one of the areas in which China and Russia are willing to cooperate.”
He added that the S-400 acquisition is progressing smoothly.
