Poland might drop plans to buy H225 and Patriot

The new Polish defense minister Antoni Macierewicz said his government might back out of plans to buy 50 H225s from Airbus Helicopters and the U.S. Patriot missile system.

Macierewicz told a parliamentary defense commission meeting that conditions of “the potential contract” to buy the Patriot system “have changed a lot since the public announcement.”

Regarding the selection of the H225, he said the decision was made “despite numerous flaws.” He added that the tender might restart if current offset talks fail.
