Boeing, U.S. Navy tests Windows tablet on EA-18G

Boeing and the U.S. Navy have been testing new targeting technologies for the EA-18G. One of the items the team from VX-23 tested was a Windows tablet.

Boeing says the tablet was integrated with the aircraft mission system and it allowed aircrews to more easily access data and communicate with crews in other aircraft.

Other new technologies tested include an advanced targeting processor, an open architecture and high-bandwidth data link.

During tests, multiple Growlers and a E-2 was able to communicate via the new high-bandwidth data link and increase the speed and accuracy of target locating.
