A ceremony was held at BAF Bangabandhu Base in Dhaka on Dec. 6 to induct the Yak-130 and AW139 search-and-rescue helicopter into service with the Bangladesh Air Force. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was the guest-of-honor.
Bangladesh signed a contract with Rosoboronexport in 2013 for 24 Yak-130s. It also placed an order with AgustaWestland for two AW139s.
