During the second flight on Nov. 23, the Unmanned Tactical Aerial Platform (UTAP-22) was able to team up with a AV-8B for collaborative airborne operations such as autonomous flight in formation with the manned fighter.

Kratos says the UTAP-22 is being designed as “a low-cost, unmanned aircraft with fighter-like-performance, to operate collaboratively with a manned fighter/tactical aircraft through semi-autonomous tasking and autonomous formation/wingman modes.”
