Indian Air Force fighter fleet’s availability rate at 55 percent

Between January to December 2014, the average availability rate for Indian Air Force’s fighter fleet was 55 percent, the Defense Ministry said in a reply to a Parliamentary standing committee on defense.

“Between 15-20 percent of the aircraft fleet were Aircraft on Ground (AOG) due to shortage of spares,” the ministry stated.
