Iranian Navy vessels came close to USS Harry S. Truman and fired rockets

Two U.S. officials have confirmed a news report from NBC that Iranian Navy vessels approached aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and fired rockets in a direction away from the carrier.

The incident happened on Dec. 26 while the Carrier Strike Group was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian vessels hailed over the radio that a live-firing exercise was taking place and
40 minutes later, the exercise warnings were repeated, and the ships started to launch the rockets.
