Pentagon getting 78 C-130Js with options for 5 more under Multiyear contract

The Pentagon has approved a Multiyear contract, worth $5.3 billion, to buy 78 C-130Js from Lockheed Martin.

Funding for the first 32 aircraft was released on Dec. 30. The contract will provide the U.S. Air Force with 30 MC-130Js, 13 HC-130Js and 29 C-130J-30s. The Marine Corps will get six KC-130Js and the Coast Guard will have the option to buy five HC-130Js.

The last aircraft under this contract will be delivered in 2020.
