A Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) F-4 crashed near the city of Konarak on Jan. 12 at around 11 a.m. local time. Two crew members on board were killed in the crash.

The jet was on a routine training mission in the vicinity of Taran village when it experienced a technical problem and the crew tried to make an emergency landing on a highway. However, heavy traffic on the road forced them to abandon the attempt and the jet crashed subsequently.
