A U.S. Air Force UH-1, #96645, assigned to 459th Airlift Squadron at Yokota Air Base, Japan was forced to make a precautionary landing at Chofu airport on Feb. 29.
A spokesperson from the base said the crew made the decision to divert after a warning light in the cockpit lighted up.
A second helicopter was later dispatched to bring back the nine on board the first aircraft.
