Colin Clark from Breaking Defense said he spoke to more than two dozen officers and civilians on how will be the next chief of staff for the U.S. Air Force and Gen. John Hyten, head of Space Command, is said to be the front runner to take over from Gen. Mark Welsh.

Hyten had spend much of his career with Space Command and if nominated for the post, he will become the first person who is not a pilot to fill the post.
