Recovery of downed F-16 in Afghanistan

U.S. and its Coalition partners carried out an operation to secure and clean-up the crash site of a F-16 from 421st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron in Afghanistan.

The jet went down after taking off from Bagram Airfield on Mar. 29. Recovery personnel spent the next two days combing through the debris field to recover the wreckage, including munitions that were on board the aircraft.
