The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force announced on Apr. 5 that it will be sending its Hyūga-class helicopter destroyer JS Ise to Indonesia and Philippines.

JS Ise will be in Indonesia for Kodomo Exercise 2016, a multilateral naval exercise held in Padang from Apr. 12-16.
The warship will also make a port call at Subic Bay, Philippines.
