The U.S. Air Force is about to complete testing of a new brake system for its F-15 fleet. Once completed, F-15C/D/E fighters will be able to make 1,400 landings before swapping out their brakes.

According to Eric Biesen, lead flight test engineer with the 416th Flight Test Squadron, this is the first brake testing to be carried out on the F-15 since the 1980s.
