During a press conference at the Air Force Academy, U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter said he is against the idea of restarting the F-22 production line.

“We’re busy upgrading them and making sure that their avionics and so forth are state of the art. But we don’t need to restart the F-22 line.”
Carter explained that resuming production of the stealth fighter will take money away from other programs.
