News outlets are reporting that a Chinese J-10 fighter had carried out an unsafe intercept of a U.S. Air Force RC-135 spy plane over the East China Sea on Jun. 7.

If officially confirmed, this will be the first time such an incident had occurred involving the J-10 – an indigenous Chinese fighter.
The incident came just one month after a U.S. Navy EP-3 suffered a similar fate whilst operating over the South China Sea.
