Taiwan fishing boat was hit by this morning’s HF-3 anti-ship missile, captain killed

It has emerged that a Hsiung Feng 3 supersonic anti-ship missile fired accidentally by a Republic of China Navy patrol boat this morning had actually locked-on to a fishing boat and impact the vessel. The captain of the boat – Hsiang Li Sheng – was killed and three others wounded.

Navy Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Mei Chia-shu said the weapon pierced thru the vessel but failed to explode.
