Poland claims breakthrough in talks to buy Patriot

Polish Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz said Warsaw is close to placing an order for the Patriot air defense system with Raytheon, a deal worth more than $5 billion.

“Indeed, the recent talks between Raytheon (and Poland) are very, very promising and one may say that a breakthrough has taken place,” Macierewicz told Reuters on Jul. 4.
