After an absence of 10 years, B-1Bs are returning to the Pacific

The B-1B will soon be a common sight at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam as the Pacific Air Force is rotating out the B-52s and replace them with B-1s from Ellsworth Air Force Base, starting from Aug. 6.

The last time the supersonic bomber was deployed to the area was back in April 2006 and since then, it had been busy with combat missions in the Middle East.

The press release by PACAF says the “B-1 units bring a unique perspective and years of repeated combat and operational experience from the Central Command theater to the Pacific.”
