USAF releases RFPs for LGM-30G and AGM-86 replacements

The U.S Air Force published two requests for proposals to the industry on Jul. 29 for the replacements of the LGM-30G intercontinental ballistic missile and AGM-86 air-launched cruise missiles. Both weapons are nuclear-armed.

Two contracts are expected to be awarded for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) intercontinental ballistic missile weapon system program and Long Range Standoff (LRSO) nuclear cruise missile program in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2017.
