B-2s, B-52s flew non-stop to North & Baltic Seas; NATO fighters practice intercepts with B-52

One B-52 from the 2nd Bomb Wing, Barksdale AFB, two B-52s from the 5th Bomb Wing, Minot AFB, and two B-2 from the 509th Bomb Wing, Whiteman AFB flew non-stop to North and Baltic Seas, around the North Pole and over Alaska, and over the Pacific Ocean to Alaska’s Aleutian Islands on Aug. 1.

The operation, dubbed “POLAR ROAR”, saw Canadian, NATO and Swedish fighters carry out intercept training with the bombers.
