The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) coordinated intercept and safe passage escort procedures during exercise Polar Roar on Aug. 1.
The exercise by U.S. Strategic Command saw B-52s and B-2s conducted flights over three of NORAD’s regions. The bombers were met by F-22s in the Alaskan NORAD Region; CF-18s in the Canadian NORAD Region; and F-15s in the Continental United States NORAD Region.
