VX-1, a U.S. Navy Air Development Squadron, bid farewell to its last P-3C submarine hunter on Jul. 20. The aircraft was flown to the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

The unit is the longest continuous operator of the P-3 with the first aircraft – a P-3A – arriving at the squadron in 1963.
