The drone that Israeli air defense failed to shoot down belongs to Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has admitted to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that an unmanned aerial vehicle that entered Israeli airspace on Jul. 17 belongs to the Russian military stationed in Syria.

During that incident, two Patriot air defense missiles and a air-to-air missile failed to bring down the drone.

Six days after the incident, both men discussed the incident over the phone. Russian officials admitted that the intrusion was a mistake.
