Bell proposed unmanned tilt-rotor to USMC that looks like miniature version of V-280

Lt. Gen. Jon Davis, U.S. Marine Corps deputy commandant for aviation, showed a model of Bell’s previously undisclosed V-247 unmanned tilt-rotor to Richard Whittle from Breaking Defense recently.

According to Davis, the single-engine drone falls under the Group 5-size classification for UAS and can perform what the MQ-9 does without the need for runways.

Bell is expected to officially unveil the concept in Washington next month.
