External fuel tanks fall off from Indian Navy MiG-29K

A Indian Navy MiG-29K carrier-borne fighter has an accident on Aug. 29 when one of its external fuel tank jettisoned whilst the jet was taking off from INS Dega. The tank started a small fire on the runway and was quickly extinguished.

The jet was carrying two fuel tanks and the pilot was instructed to jettison the second tank over the sea. However, a malfunction prevented him from doing so. But the tank detached and landed in a car park as the jet return to land.
