A Swedish Air Fore Colonel warned that future student pilots selected to fly the Gripen E will face issues as there is a huge gap between the SK 60 jet trainer and the new Saab fighter in terms of capabilities.

There are also no twin-seat version of the fighter for the Swedish Air Force and students will have to rely more on simulators.
