USAF F-15s face off PLAAF Su-30MKKs on Sept. 12 off Taiwan

The Chinese state media announced on Sept. 12 that the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) had dispatched bombers, fighters and support aircraft through the Bashi Channel into the Pacific Ocean. Taiwan’s Up Media reported that the U.S. Air Force dispatched F-15s from Japan during this exercise. We’ve check with our source and can confirm that the incident did occur.

Preliminary report out on Draken’s TA-4K crash

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board has published its preliminary report into the loss of a TA-4K operated by Draken International at Nellis Air Force Base on Aug. 18.

South Africa announces plan to update Rooivalk

South Africa’s Defense Minister Nosiviwe Masipa-Nqakula announced plans to update the country’s indigenous Rooivalk attack helicopter during the African Aerospace and Defence Show in Pretoria on Sept. 13.
