China says it sent more than 40 aircraft into Western Pacific

China announced on its Ministry of Defense website on Sept. 25 that it had dispatched more than forty aircraft, including fighters and bombers, into the Western Pacific that day.

Air Force spokesman Snr. Col. Shen Jinke said the flights in the East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone were meant to protect the country’s sovereignty and security.
