The combat debut of the AIM-9 Sidewinder dogfight missile took place 48 58 years ago and the location was over Wenzhou Bay, China. This article, in Mandarin, is the most detailed account on what actually took place on Sept. 24, 1958, including the time the first PLAAF MiG-17 was shot down by an air-to-air missile fired from a RoCAF F-86.

Iceland says 3 Russian Tu-160s flew below commercial flight

The Icelandic foreign ministry has complained that three Russian Air Force Tu-160 bombers flew between 6,000 and 9,000 feet below a passenger plane that departed Reykjavik and bound for Sweden.

Third U.S. rotational Air Contingent in Philippines

The U.S. Air Force sent two C-130s plus airmen from the 374th Air Wing at Yokota Air Base, Japan, the 36th Contingency Response Group from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam and other units from across PACAF to Mactan-Benito Ebuen Air Base, Lapu-Lapu City, Philippines for the third rotational Air Contingent.
