TASS reports that Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov has left its home port of Severomorsk and is underway towards the Mediterranean.

The carrier’s escorts are battlecruiser Pyotr Velikiy, destroyers Severomorsk and Vice-Admiral Kulakov.
It was earlier reported that this will be its first combat cruise and the Su-33s and MiG-29Ks on board are expected to carry out air strikes in Syria.
