Royal Navy will be withdrawing Harpoon from service in 2018

The Royal Navy will be left without any anti-ship missile strike capability from 2018 to 2020 as it has decided to withdraw the Harpoon in 2018 and retire the helicopter-launched Sea Skua missile early next year.

A limited anti-ship capability will only return when the Sea Venom/ANL lightweight anti-ship missile is equipped on the Wildcat HMA.2 helicopter in late 2020.
