Russia’s Armata armored vehicles will get tethered drone

Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) is working on a tethered unmanned aerial vehicle that will be attached to the Armata heavy military tracked vehicle platform.

Vitaly Poliansky, a research associate at MAI’s department of aviation robotic systems, told Izvestia that the UAV will have the flight range of up to 100 meters.

The drone, dubbed Pterodactyl, will be equipped with a radar and thermal sensor.
